RECOM ENSURES A SAFE HOLY WEEK FOR RESIDENTS
April 1, 2012
Caloocan City Mayor Enrico “Recom” Echiverri has ensured the safety of residents and those travelling to provinces this Holy Week by tightening security at local bus stations, malls and other crowded places.
Echiverri specifically instructed Caloocan City Chief of Police, Sr. Supt. Jude Wilson Santos to deploy additional police to the said locations as a precautionary measure against threats to peace and order.
Members of the Special Weapon and Tactics (SWAT) and bomb sniffing dogs will also be on the scene to detect any explosives or weapons that the criminals may try to smuggle into the bus stations.
The Reformed Department of Public Safety and Traffic Management (RDPSTM), on the other hand, would see to it that traffic remains orderly despite the deluge of passengers expected this Holy Week.
Meanwhile, Liga ng mga Barangay sa Pilipinas President, Councilor Ricojudge “RJ” Echiverri has coordinated with barangay officials in efforts to keep barangay tanods or watchmen on the ready against thieves and burglars.
Mayor Echiverri noted that a lot of homes would be left empty this Holy Week since residents will be flocking to their respective provinces.
However, the joint deployment of additional police, watchmen and members of the RDPSTM is seen to discourage any criminal activity within the neighborhood.
As a final reminder, Mayor Recom told his residents to make sure that all of their electrical appliances are unplugged so as to prevent fires during their time out in the province.
