RECOM OFFERS MOBILE PASSPORTING ON GOLDEN YEAR ANNIVERSARY
February 2, 2012
Caloocan City Mayor Enrico “Recom” Echiverri said the local government would be offering mobile passporting services to its constituents as part of the celebration of the city’s 50th foundation anniversary.
Echiverri said the local Civil Registry Department (CRD) will be accepting passport applications from beginning February 2 up to March 2 meaning that residents no longer have to go to the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA).
Aside from this, residents may also renew their existing passports by submitting the necessary application to the CRD of either the main city hall or north city hall.
With the mobile passporting service, folks in Caloocan would be able to save time, money and energy because it spares them the long commute and the long queues that usually come with the procurement of passports.
Echiverri further advised residents who want to avail of the mobile passporting service to contact the CRD (324-5126 or 288-8811 local 2249) in order to find out what documents they need to bring.
The appearance/ final evaluation of the passport applications will be carried out by the DFA on March 17. After payment, residents with approved applications need only to wait for two weeks before getting their passports.
Meanwhile, Liga ng mga Barangay sa Pilipinas President, Councilor Ricojudge “RJ” Echiverri had earlier coordinated with the city’s barangay officials in order to relay information about the mobile passporting.
Among the necessary documents that residents may need to bring are birth certificate (certified true copy), proof of identity, and citizenship papers.
