Caloocan
City Mayor Enrico “Recom” Echiverri said he would provide additional
infrastructure projects and continue the benefits being given to
barangay officials in order to promote the 188 barangays in the city.
Echiverri, who spoke before a gathering of barangay officials and residents in Barangay 14
Dagat-dagatan
during their Barangay Assembly Day over the weekend, said come January
of next year, the city government will be constructing additional
infrastructure projects and utilities intended for the barangays.
The
mayor also made the same pronouncement as he, together with National
Liga ng mga Barangay president Ricojudge RJ Echiverri and City
Administrator Russel Ramirez paid a visit to the other villages
involved in the synchronized assembly.
“We
are just re-examining the details and waiting for the other utility
companies like Meralco to finish installing their services. Once everything is in its proper order, it will be all systems go for the infra projects,” the mayor pointed out.
Echiverri
said he started launching infrastructure projects for the communities
during the second year of his first term and hoped to continue the
program for the benefit of the residents.
Among the projects built by the mayor for the barangay were the multi-purpose covered courts; socialized housing projects
for the city’s urban poor; clean water projects for residents of
Caloocan North; concreting of roads and pathways; and lighting projects
to illuminate alleys and other passageways.
Moreover, Echiverri said he will continue to provide the financial benefits for barangay officials including death benefit assistance as mandated by his Executive Order 115.
Meanwhile,
the city’s 188 barangays held their respective barangay assembly to
tackle current issues, including the presentation of their
State-of-the-Barangay Address (SoBA), in order to encourage citizen
participation in barangay governance.

projects promised by the mayor will add in the development of their
barangay
