Caloocan Mayor Oscar *OCA* Malapitan led the signing of a memorandum of agreement and the unveiling of heritage tree markers at the Caloocan Nature Park in Amparo, North Caloocan.

Heritage trees are 70-100-year old trees planted in public or private lands. The markers signify the importance of mature trees in our environment with the aim that the century-old trees will be preserved and protected.

In his statement, Mayor OCA said that, "from the first day of my administration, we are already one with the Department of Environment and Natural Resources in protecting the environment for the future generation."

Urban forestry is one of the top priorities of the Local Government of Caloocan led by Mayor OCA. Under his administration, several parks were built in North and South Caloocan for the relaxation and recreation of the residents of Caloocan.
